2014 Amateur Draft **Round 1**

Our 2014 B.K.D.B. Amateur Draft will start at 9:00pm est. on Friday August 15th.

Remember that all trades involving draft picks must be posted no later then 72 hours before the draft starts, after which time the draft order will be locked until the draft has concluded.




**Round 1**

*Each team will have a 12 hour window from the time the last pick was made in which to make their pick. If a pick is not made within the given 12 hour window, then an auto-pick will be made.

*All auto-picks will be made by selecting the highest remaining drafted player from the actual MLB draft. This list can be found on the "2014 Amateur Draft Avaialble Guide List" thread.

*If you know that you might miss your pick and you do not wish to be auto-picked, you can PM a short list of wanted players in order of most wanted to either myself(LAA), Michael(CLE), or Bill(KC). We will then auto-pick from your submitted short list.

*Any unowned MiLB player that has yet to accrue 100AB or 50IP at the MLB level in any single season, or who was not a 2014 IFA(International Free Agent/J2 amateur), or who did not sign an MLB contract as an exempt IFA(at least 23 years of age/at least 3 years of pro ball experience abroad) is included in the available player pool for this draft.
Examples of players not eligible to be drafted in this draft because they were members of this years J2/IFA class....SS-Adrian Rodon, SS-Gilbert Lara, SS-Dermis Garcia, & OF-Juan De Leon. All of the 2014 J2 guys will be included in the available player pool for our next MiLB Draft here in a few months.

Honestly thought it was a 24 hour clock. We've had a much longer clock in the past and I think 12 hours is too short, especially since I was working when Dodgers made his pick and didn't really check in last night - I was planning on picking this morning. I'll take the pick that was made automatically for me, but this is definitely something to consider fixing in the future.

I know the clock is only 12 hours, but I think we used to have it 24 hours and the draft just dragged on for days.

Considering that 12 hours can EASILY span the period of time when someone is asleep, working, and/or out of the house, I'd say that we should do a skip after 12 hours and an autopick after it gets to 24.
