Phillies trade:
SP Zac Gallen 23: $12.2M (4 of 7 - A) OF Kyle Schwarber 23: $12.4M (7 of 7 - A) Gallen: $9.1M coverage in 2023 Schwarber: $9.3M coverage in 2023
Orioles trade:
OF Ceddanne Rafaela 23: $300k (spec) SS Cristian Hernandez 23: $300k (spec) P Ryan Pepiot 23: $300k (spec) SS Yiddi Cappe $300k (spec) P Royber Salinas $300k (spec) BAL 1st BAL 4th RP Liam Hendriks 23: $11.5M, 24: $11.5M (cap purposes)
Felt like my roster needed a few more “dudes” to go up against some of the AL’s top squads. Gallen gives me another high-end controllable starter to front the rotation, and I plan on tagging Schwarber at the end of the season.
Zach and I are both aware of Liam Hendriks’ medical status, and he is included in this deal almost entirely for cap purposes.
Glad we could work out a deal, Zach!

Phillies accept. The rebuild is in full swing now that my top players are on their way out. Excited about the group of prospects and picks I’ve gotten in return. Good talks Mike and best of luck!

allow. Zach, hopefully my scouting reports don't discourage, folks that know this game alot better than I do have better takes on the players you are receiving. I think the Philles received enough, although I like this deal for the Orioles. Ceddanne Rafaela, I've read comparisons to Mookie Betts because his swing is very similar to Betts, He has a quick swing and seems to get the bat on the ball regularly, his plate approach is going to need to improve to limit his weak contact. Where Rafaela stands out is on the field, he can play the OF or IF at an elite level, I still see him as a light hitting defensive player like Jackie Bradley Jr.
Cristian Hernandez, a batting practice gem that doesn't hit in games, his swing is quick through the zone and he has an athletic build but looks like he will lose speed as he matures. If the expectations are kept at bay, he could be alright as a 3B.
Ryan Pepiot from his MLB debut he looks like he could be a future All-Star, which seems like higher expectations than he will actually realize, but he will get a chance to be a SP for the Dodgers in 23', I would have thought he would pitch out of the pen, but he has learned well from the Dodgers organization.
Yiddi Cappe, has a build that could use some more muscle and how that muscle is added will determine his future. His pitch recognition is good, his swing is solid, he runs well, he is light on his feet and seems to be doing what he can to be a future MLB SS.
Royber Salinas, has 3 good pitches that translate into strikeouts, he still needs to learn how to pitch as right now he is a thrower, but if learns how to control where his pitches go he could be special, I see a bit of Frankie Montas with less attitude.
