The way the In-Season Free Agency works has been a hot topic over the last few days. I really enjoy making proposals even though I don't really support a change, so here is my idea.
Eliminate In-Season Free Agency altogether.
The biggest worries with changing anything have been: 1. Having to track something else; 2. How to fairly compensate In-Season Free Agents; 3. Not wanting a 40 man roster.
If we eliminate In-Season Free Agency, that is less for anyone to track, so everyone should be totally stoked.
We won't need to worry about proper compensation, because there will be no need for any compensation. Any player that hits the threshold during the season will be a normal free agent in the next cycle; or if someone doesn't hit their threshold they will be able to be picked in our super awesome 12-round draft.
There will be no need to worry about MLB 40 man rosters or us using a 40 man roster because everything will be taken care of in the off-season.

A little too radical of an idea.

In terms of simple and easy to apply, I love this rule idea.
In terms of how much my heart aches seeing points stuck in the aether of free agency, I hate it.

I think my point in bringing this up was to ADD these players who are contributing scoring to teams earlier rather than later. This further delays it, so I'm not in favor.
