Rays confirm. This trade is a first step in fielding a MLB roster in '25 and beyond. Hoerner is the major asset with top 5 potential going forward at 2B. I accept the future is uncertain for France but if he can remain in Cincy, even in a part-time role, he will be a contributor to my team. I hate giving up my picks and Snelling but but willing to part with them given the upside coming back. While I am always hesitant to trade within the division, a grudging thanks goes to Michael for the competent trade negotiations.

Orioles happy to cover 75% salary on Hoerner (8.7M) and on France (5.6) for 2024 to make this work. Rays currently at -12M cap space. Coverage pushes them to 2.3M above the threshold. 2024 cap coverage applied on sheet/trade processed. |
