The Miami Marlins trade : SP Anibal Sanchez ('12: $5.7M)('13: $7.7M)('14: $9.7M) for The Washington Nationals : RP Ramon Ramirez ('12: $5.5M)('13: $5.5M) RP Cole Kimball [2/4] ('12: $0.3M) SP Fabio Martinez Mesa ('12: $0.3M) I have a surplus of SP's. With this deal i get a good RP and 2 good Pitching Prospects who will help me a lot in the future.

I'm going to have to VETO personally, Ramirez isn't a closer so hes not worth a whole ton, Kimball is also coming off of Rotator Cuff surgery which ended his season quickly last year. On top of that Mesa missed all but 1 or 2 rookie league games last year due to shoulder fatigue. Sanchez on the other hand is a relatively cheap young (27) pitcher who has been one of the most consistent in the game the past two years and also upped his K's to the 200's while decreasing his BB's into the 60's last year. I think Anibal has been consistently undervalued in this league.

Veto. Ramirez isnt worth much in a league like this where closers are worth more. The other guys arent that good/havent proved worthy at the MLB level thus far.

What is it in this league with all that opinion voting? Doesn't anybody care about the opinion of the 2 owners involved any more. No trade evens out exactly the same for both parties guys. It's what he and I need for our team, that's what this deal is about. Vetoes should only be if their is clear evidence of collusion or if a deal is so lop-sided that it would damage the league in whole. The vetoing deals just on fairytales and what-iffs is really getting annoying and shows imo disrespect to your fellow owner.
In short : DO YOUR RESEARCH before you VETO.
Kimball is "Baseball America's nr 7 prospect in the Nationals organisation Martinez Mesa is "Baseball America's nr 8 prospect in the Angels organisation Anibal Sanchez is on the end of last season's Player Rater nr 52 of Starting Pitchers!
Ramirez was the nr 64 of Relief Pitchers
If this was so lop-sided it should be advantage for me.
People vetoing this deal shows ignorance and incompetence in judging a player imo.

It's one thing to veto lopsided deals on big ticket names as that could absolutely sink a franchize. It's completely different to veto small pieces moving between teams... which I think is is a bit ridiculous. And I'm one of the GMs who tends to stand up for unfair trades.
In addition to what Marlins has stated, let's also consider Anibal Sanchez's salary here.
I agree that Nats is the winner here since Sanzhez should get a lot more Ws and a lot fewer Ls this year, but this trade still isn't vetoable.

Approve.
Being a guy who has had many of his own deals vetoed in the past, I understand how people feel when a deal of theirs is vetoed, which is why I hardly ever veto trades.

This isn't ignorance Marlins. I have Anibal ranked #36 on the rankings I use... think that deserves at least one top 5 organization prospect. Still, this will be approve.d

Approve. I agree with the point of view that says this deal may or may not be even, but it doesn't shift the balance of power by any stretch of the imagination.
