Hey everyone,
Here's our first league update of the new year I believe.
Some things for everyone:
1. Over cap
There are several teams over the salary cap. They are:
Dodgers (-6.9m) Reds (-7.9m) Angels (-2.7m) Yankees (-7.1m) and Orioles (0.1m in space)
Teams will have until March 25th to get under the cap.
2. MiLB Draft and International Free Agency
The MiLB Draft will begin on February 17th. The Draft order will be the same as the Amateur Draft order but no pick trading. Players available for this draft have been posted in the Amateur Draft section.
International Free Agency will open in silent bidding on February 24th. It will be over quickly do to it being done silently. This will consist of players that were signed by MLB teams.
3. Pittsburgh Pirates and possibly Arizona Dbacks
These teams are open and looking for owners. If you know of possibly GM's, invite them!
4. Relocation
This was discussed today in the chat box. This would allow teams to change team cities and team names. It would make things a bit more confusing for divisions and stuff, but it could be a fun thing to add.
5. Activity Check
Here's are our first activity check. Please vote for your team on the top so I know you're still around.
Thanks,
Alex

2) Same as 2012 Amateur Draft right? Not the 2011 one we had?
4) I think relocation is a bad idea.
First of all, while it's fine if teams create logos... the league wallpapers and what not would get messed up. Second, teams moving between cities would mess up divisions. A team moving from San Francisco to Charlotte will make the NL West not the west anymore. Third, it will be harder to find teams in the forums and in the spreadsheets. We know all MLB teams by heart and where to find them in the standings, and we know which division to go to to find them. But a team that doesn't exist will take longer to find in the spreadsheet and it will take longer to find the subforum on the main forum. In fact, there are many reasons for why this is a bad idea but these are the main ones.

As for the 2), it's referring to the MiLB draft... not the Amateur Draft. Different things.

I like the idea of relocation and all that but Slava brings up a good point and after that i agree with him b/c it would make it harder on everything and could have alot of owners against the idea.
Besides that Lets Play Ball!

Update here, I know that Dbacks are in, Pirates are in, and Rangers are in. Also, Braves logged on today so he's in, and Dodgers logged on today! So all 30 teams are in!
