Dodgers Acquire: OF/1B Jesus Guzman 16 million (Been over 24 hours, deal will be cleared long before deal is processed) OF/1B Chris Carter 300k
A's acquire: 1B Anthony Rizzo 300k OF David DeJesus Jr. 9 million
I signed Guzman for the sole purpose of trading him to LA ha! I pestered him about Rizzo all offseason, and he said he needed a 1B in return.
We were almost done in negotiations, and I need some sleep. He said to add someone to get DeJesus instead of another option, and I added Carter.
I wanted to get younger and acquired my 1B of the future, as well as DeJesus, who at the deadline, could provide a team with a much needed player, costing some prospects.
COUGH COUGH Michael Natelli COUGH COUGH Coco Crisp is a piece of glass COUGH COUGH.
*IF RYAN WANTS I WILL TAKE ARTHUR RHODES
**PLEASE WAIT UNTILL THIS DEAL IS ACCEPTED BEFORE VOTING

I accept.
Jesus Guzman is no crap, he is a future solid player who can contribute greatly. Rizzo is solid too, but hasnt proved much in the majors so far and with LaHair hitting .300+, he may not play until next year or so... He isnt getting any younger. Also, Chris Carter is a spect i do believe in a lot and feel he can help me with my future on a futre-driven A's team. David DeJesus is dead space on my team right now, so i relieve his $9M.
PS- Nah ill keep Arther Rhodes. Thanks though

I suppose I have to do the right thing and hold personal opinions about how bad Guzman (who's only starting because Carlos Quentin is hurt and will be blocked at first by top Padres prospect Yonder Alsonso) is and how Carter strikes out more than Mark Reynolds are back and approve this trade. Not sure how either of these guys are worth a top 50 prospect in the game. You say Rizzo isn't getting younger but he's 22 and underage for AAA even. LaHair is 30 years old if you didn't know and can also play outfield so I wouldn't be surprised to see him shift there. The trades people make in this league with Noah baffle me. Changing vote to veto now that I know im not the only one.

Veto. First of all, you haven't even sign Guzman yet a's. It's 48 hours. Secondly, DeJesus is a much better outfielder than Guzman. And Rizzo easily superior to Carter. Dodgers doesn't get anything out of this, some of these deals are pretty lopsided. Agreeing with Cards here.

I was under he assumption Free Agency was 24 hours.
Jesus Guzman is an excellent hitter, who is 10x better than DeJesus. Have you seen him hit? He is better than every hitter, except maybe Hundley and Headley.
The beef of the deal was:
I asked for Rizzo for a while, he said he needed a 1B. I was watching Guzman and wondered if he was unowned since he was a minor league signing, like Ryan Vogelsong. I searched him and was excited because this meant I could go get Rizzo. I signed him, it would have been around 6 million if Rey hadn't bid 15 mil after M's bid 5... I offered him Rizzo and anybody he wanted to deal me on a 1 year deal for Guzman. He countered I could take Rhodes OR DeJesus if I threw in someone. I said Chris Carter. I told him I posted the trade, and if he wanted someone else to just decline it. I had to go to bed.
DeJesus has no power, and limited speed.

Guzman isn't even a long term starter for the Padres Yonder Alonso and Carlos Quentin are the starters once Quentin comes back. Dejesus actually has a starting job, everyday with no one to take over his spot.

Veto - Rizzo is a real prospect who's getting traded for pennies on the dollar. What's especially confusing is what a team like LA with no shot at winning this year would want Guzman.

This is too small for me to veto. This league is still too veto-happy.
