I accept.
Although usually not my style to acquire big name and big salry players, I had made the exception as I am looking to win it all next year, I receive one of the best players in the game, and a pitcher with some potential.
Smart move for both of us, and easy negotiations. I accept.

I'll approve, but I think this is selling low on Pujols.
Guys like Cain and Phillips were traded for similar packages but those guys are in their walk years and would need to be franchise tagged. With 2 years left, Pujols' contract is pretty decent when you think about it. I think Pujols is worth more, but I'm willing to give the Blue Jays manager the benefit of the doubt.

Slava,
Just to defend the deal I would like to say one thing. While you may be right I most likely could have done slightly better this wasn't a rush to judgement, I spoke with more than 5 owners about Pujols and you would be surprised by the offers I was receiving (especially if you find this one to not be enough). Also, I think a fundamental disconnect is Allen Craig's ceiling which I don't think he has reached as of yet. So in my opinion when considering the contract cost (even after I sign Hammel) and the fact that Pujols will not be helping this team win a championship in 2013 or 2014 the value of the contracts worked out in my favor in my humble opinion.

I'll trust Ray on this one. Nice to see a GM backing up a questionable deal. I approve. Unfortunately, you had to send him to Gregg... guess I'll be losing in the NLCS again

I never thought I would see someone say the Hammel was "really good". He had a great season.

Agree with you Jared. The idea is to but in now before he gets to that "really good" status.
