I had some time today, so I calculated what 1 point (for batters) cost in our league in 2014.
I took the top 100 scoring batters (I didn't go deeper because I didn't have time) and took their 2014 salaries and divided it by the total points scored.
It might be a little off but it's probably pretty close.
Each 1 point cost $20,932 so just under $21,000 per point.
I figured that number could help us with projecting salaries, figuring out how much money to cover on a guy for a midsession trade, judging how well we signed guys in free agency (whether we over paid or underpaid), etc.
I will do pitchers at some point as well. Enjoy that knowledge!
Oh and the most cost effective player last year was Anthony Rendon, while the least cost effective top 100 guy was Joe Mauer.
