Welcome to the 2016 MiLB Draft!  The Draft will begin February 17th, 4PM CT

Round 1

The draft will last 6 rounds.  Since these picks cannot be traded at all during the season, all six draft picks will remain with their respective teams. All players not on a team's roster and who have yet to accrue 100 at bats or 40 innings pitched in any single season at the major league level will be eligible to be drafted. Also, International Free Agents (IFA's) will be eligible to be drafted in certain circumstances. Any IFA that is 23 or younger and only if he was signed before the start of the drafts current round are draft eligible. Players who weren't signed at the beginning of the round will have to wait until the start of the next round to be drafted. Any MiLB player that gets released by their BKDB team during the draft process will also have to wait until the start of the next round after they were released in order to be draft eligible.

Our MiLB Draft order will be based in inverse order of each teams win/loss record from the previous season. The team with the worst record will be awarded the first pick in the draft, and so on. Each team has a 24 hour window to make their pick from the time that the previous team has made their pick. If they do not choose within the given time period, the pick will be skipped. Skipped picks can be made at any point before the round in which they were skipped has concluded. If said pick is not made before the round concludes then it will subsequently be forfeited. Teams will be placed on "auto-skip" to speed up the draft process if they miss a pick in any round. To be taken off of auto-skip, please contact a League Staff member. Make sure that you have the cap space to make your picks well in advance of having to make them. Each newly drafted player takes on our league prospect salary of $0.3M per year until they have a season in which they accrue either 100ABs, or 40IPs at the major league level.

Sorry, but unfortunately this is an invalid pick.

IFA's are only minor league draft eligible if they were not exempt from the real life MLB IFA bonus pools. Meaning under the age of 23 at time of real life signing. Mr.Gurriel purposely waited until after his 23rd birthday to sign so that he would in fact be exempt from said bonus pools.

Mr.Gurriel's services will have to be acquired via free agency once this years IFA FA class is posted for bidding.

Yes, Lourdes Guriel is a valid pick.  The rules say nothing about him having to be under the age of 23 at the time he signed.  They do say he must be 23 years or younger to be eligible to be drafted.   He is 23 and he signed before the start of the round.

I think this might've been my mistake when I typed up the MiLB Draft thing at the top of the Round. The rules say under the age of 23... but these say 23 or younger. I think the real rules are right; I must've have mis-typed it when I was creating this.

This is copied and pasted directly from the rules.  I understand that maybe it is a mistake that the rule is typed up this way, but the fact remains, that in the rules there is a sentence structured this way.  To me there isn't room for confusion in this sentence.

Sorry, I tried to go through and update all the places where the draft was mentioned when we updated the rules in 2014, but I think I missed a few spots. To my knowledge, we've tried to go by the rules that Derrick posted a few years ago, as he was the one who spear-headed the changes at that time.
