Hey everyone!
The long awaited Amateur Draft will begin right now! I know the draft was supposed to start on the eve of July 17th, but I got tired of waiting... that's really my only reason. Teams can still trade picks until July 14th, which is three days before what would have been the start of the draft, but you obviously can't deal picks after they've occurred. There will not be a clock on teams until July 17th, because we're starting a bit early, but I'd love to have everyone try to still make their picks in timely fashion so we can get this thing moving.
A couple reminders:
- Teams may draft any college or high school players drafted in the MLB Rookie Draft OR any unowned MiLB players (players that have not reached 50 IP or 130 AB in a season).
- Teams may not draft players that did not sign in this year's MLB Rookie Draft (i.e. Carter Stewart)
- Teams may not draft any J2 signings, these players will be available in the Winter MiLB Draft
- Teams have 24 hours to make their draft selections. If they fail to make their pick, they will be placed on auto-pick for the remainder of the draft and will have the highest selected players in the MLB Draft available. Teams can message the commissioner to be taken off auto-pick.
- When making your selection, please post the player name, position, school, and MLB team.
- If a team makes a pick that causes them to go over the salary cap, that player and pick will be forfeited and the player will be returned to the player pool at the start of the next round. PLEASE MONITOR YOUR SALARY CAP AND MAKE THE NECESSARY CUTS TO HAVE SPACE FOR YOUR PICKS!
- Teams may not trade drafted players until the round they were drafted in has concluded.
- I will update the Google Spreadsheet rosters after every round.
With that... Mariners are on the clock as soon as I get Round 1 up!
