If anyone would like to partake, I was thinking about having a fun little pool where we pick division winners/playoff teams and the corresponding playoff outcomes. Point totals would be awarded for picking correct division winners and playoff winners. No money involved, but it might make the season more interesting for those who are looking for something exciting.
Format Picking division winners = 2 points per correct division predicted = 12 total points available Wildcard teams = 1 point per correct wildcard team predicted = 4 total points available
Playoffs - You’re going to have to assume each playoff matchup based off records Wildcard round = 1 point per correct winner predicted = 2 total available points Divisional round = 2 points per correct winner predicted = 8 total points available League championship round = 3 points per correct winner predicted = 6 total points available World Series = 4 points for picking the champion

If interested, let me know. I’ll have everyone send their predictions to me via email and I’ll keep them private until the season begins. At which point, I’ll post them all on ProBoards.

Based off what is being reported, the new playoff format will have 8 teams per league making the post-season. The top 2 from each division will qualify and the 7th and 8th seeds will be the next best records. I have updated the scoring and added bonuses.
If you pick all 3 AL Division Winners correctly you get 3 additional points. If you pick all 3 NL Division Winners correctly you get 3 additional points. If you pick all 6 Division Winners correctly you get another 3 points. Be sure that you are including 2 teams from each division in your updated picks.
Deadline to submit is extended through tomorrow evening.
Updated format
AL East (2 points) AL Central (2 points) AL West (2 points) WC1 (.5 points) WC2 (.5 points) WC3 (.5 points) WC4 (.5 points) WC5 (.5 points) Round 1 (1 point) Round 1 (1 point) Round 1 (1 point) Round 1 (1 point) ALDS (2 points) ALDS (2 points) ALCS (3 points) NL East (2 points) NL Central (2 points) NL West (2 points) WC1 (.5 points) WC2 (.5 points) WC3 (.5 points) WC4 (.5 points) WC5 (.5 points) Round 1 (1 point) Round 1 (1 point) Round 1 (1 point) Round 1 (1 point) NLDS (2 points) NLDS (2 points) NLCS (3 points) World Series (6 points)
Hopefully I don’t have to make any further changes but I will if necessary.
Anyone have any thoughts on the updates?
