Das (Former Giants GM)We follow the same signing period as MLB does. If he was part of the 2019-20 class then he's eligible to be drafted in any proceeding draft after he signs. When in said period the player signs is only relevant to what draft they are first eligible to be drafted in that year.

Someone please find a past example of an international player under the age limit who was signed a couple months after June 2nd in the past and when we drafted them. I know this has happened before, just not in a couple years. Thank you!

Someone please find a past example of an international player under the age limit who was signed a couple months after June 2nd in the past and when we drafted them. I know this has happened before, just not in a couple years. Thank you! If my memory serves me correctly, this happened with Jose Garcia and Yordan Alvarez, both of which were allowed to be drafted. So it seems like the Angels pick should stand, which is good for him, but this is a player I would have targeted in the draft had I thought he was eligible. Being that each time this happens, the pick is questioned, it might stop this from again to put something in the rules with signing date eligibility, just so all the owners are on the same page. Nice pick Derrick.
