We’ve got some important matchups that are extremely close. Here’s a quick preview of the weekend games that matter:
Orioles 182.32 vs Tigers 152.18
The Orioles have 2 starts remaining this week with Logan Webb and George Kirby taking the bump. Unfortunately, CJ Cron is on the IL so they’ve been rolling with no first baseman this week.
The Tigers new edition, Jon Gray, has a start today along Eric Lauer, Brandon Pfaadt, and Louie Varland. He can also start Michael Wacha in place of one of the aforementioned guys if he wants a Sunday start.
Prediction - Orioles
Guardians 208.7 vs Giants 174.16
The Guardians have 1 start from Justin Steele on Sunday. His team completely disappeared yesterday. Getting 1.42 points out of starter Blake Snell didn’t help his cause.
The Giants had a nice performance yesterday led by the pitching staff. They’ve got Lucas Giolito and Luke Weaver throwing today and Kyle Muller throwing tomorrow. Not the most solid of options but those are points either way.
Prediction - This one is tough but I am going with the Guardians
Diamondbacks 197.28 vs Cubs 186.76
The Diamondbacks traded away a pitcher (Jon Gray) that was lined up for a Saturday start. He’s only got Jhony Brito scheduled to pitch this weekend. He might have wanted to wait a day to make that trade.
The Cubs on the other hand have 3 starters going this weekend. Braxton Garrett today and Jack Flaherty and Josiah Gray going tomorrow.
The offenses are pretty similar as are the bullpens.
Prediction - Cubs

Tim, I am beating Travis. It says games that matter…but I hope you do beat him. A 4 game lead in the East would be nice.
