So this may be something that isn't needed league wide, but I wanted to open up the floor for it at least.
Currently in the rules we have a hard $175M; with draft picks locking and players not being able to be traded until the round is over, it can lead to a team that was near the cap ceiling to temporarily going over the cap in order to make their selections.
I am sitting on two possible ideas:
A) Allow for $3.6M in cap overage so teams can at least make their draft picks, they then have 48 hours following the drafts conclusion to get back to compliance. The 3.6M is out 12 rounds x the $0.3 cost of each prospect. I would see this as being its own cell on the sheet that isn't added to your actual cap number until 48 hours following the drafts conclusion.
B) You can go over cap space, but compliance must come within 48 hours of the conclusion of the round you go over the cap. This still allows you to make your picks, but you need to keep the integrity of cap compliance seemingly by the next time you go on the clock.
This probably isn't explained the best, but my mindset is that teams have a reason they're taking certain players and realize they are going to go over the cap, but have the inability to make a trade until the pick has been made and the round is official (which would currently void the pick).
I am open to questions on this since I know I am probably not conveying it the best. But, thanks!

Idt this is something we need to vote on. Slight update to the rules is all, drop by end of the round.

If you bid on one less reliever this wouldn’t have been an issue lol

Astros GM (Will), I mean, it's not an issue if I can make the trades that I have lined up for my draft picks.

Open to the discussion, but I think with just a little bit more foresight by GM's this won't be necessary. I would be against adding this extra thing to keep track of.
