Hey guys, Here's the official poll on google spreadsheets. Reds has created an entire league spreadsheet for us to use as official rosters. You should still keep a roster on here.... One question. Do you want each team to be able to update their spreadsheet roster as well as their roster on here? Or should it be the commissioner's job after... every officialized trade and free agent signing to add the players? Here's the link to the spreadsheets: spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmNHZj1kh3cfdGhHWHdSU0JpQ2JQV0czd1ZzejZGRGc&hl=en_US#gid=0The benefits of the spreadsheets include: You can hit Ctrl + F and you can find any player if he's on a roster. Former rosters can be traced back and recovered. Everyone has the same format and it will be easy to navigate between rosters all on the same page. Please vote! I won't officialize anything until 15-20 teams vote!

If we use the spreadsheet, would it be our jobs to set it up and update it?

That's up for debate... would you guys rather have the 5 commish's do that with Reds or everyone does their own?

Google Docs has different permission levels:
1) Anyone can look, only certain people can edit (those permitted by the owner) - For example: I and the commissioners would have permission to edit, rest of the league would only be able to view it.
2) Anyone can look, only certain people can edit... but this time I would make every owner in the league ask for permission and grant it. They would need to create a google account for this to work.
3) Anyone can look, anyone can edit. This would allow anyone on the internet to edit, which would mean no one would need to ask for access but it opens up the opportunity for vandalism. Of course we could restore previous versions anyway, but the person can make subtle changes that would be barely noticeable but affect us long term.

I like option #1. I think the six of you can make it work By the way, what's with all these owners dropping like flies?

A few owners joined and then decided that they didn't have time, but I've got it settled now. Dodgers and Nats are open. I have a owner for Nats.

Sounds good to me. We need some kind of univeral roster, this seems perfect. Although I would be careful not to open it up for everyone to edit. As CIN stated above....this could lead to potential future problems. Overall a great idea.

Alright, I think we're all leaning towards having it as a LM run thing with Reds helping because he created it. We will record salaries and keep track of rosters after trades, signings, draft picks, etc.
Need at least like 12-15 approves though before this thing goes through. Tell everyone that comes on to vote on this.

Seems like it's going to pass with flying colors. In anticipation, I've done quite a bit of work but need volunteers to help out.
As of now, I've done the entire AL east and NL central. Can we get some computer savvy volunteers to help with the rest?
