Orioles trade: SP Trevor Cahill (11:$3.5M 12:$5.5M 13:$5.5M) OF Trayce Thompson (11-14:$300k) OF Kosuke Fukudome (11:$14M)
Mets trade: 3B David Wright (11:$14M 12:$15M 13:$16M club option)
difference is I basically took off the Mets future lights-out closer. He gets Cahill, who will bounce back, and a guy hitting .270; along with a prospect.

Veto
Fukudome is a vastly overpaid platoon OF. And Thompson is just a light-hitting A ball prospect (basically worthless). Basically this is Wright for Cahill.
Let's not forget that you got Cahill for Drabek and Liriano like 2 weeks ago. Seeing as the league approved Cahill's value at that level, I don't see the value jumping to Wright's level that quickly.

Approve. If Cahill is healthy and throwing he could be worth way more than the injury prone Wright. Trayce Thompson is a great prospect and could have impact. Dont see anything wrong here

Approve. Wright gets injured and he sucks at Citi Field.
We should wait for Mike #2 to accept tho.

You guys realize for someone who's gonna "bounce-back" a Post-All Star Game ERA of 7.00+ is heading in the wrong direction?

Maybe David Wright or Trevor Cahill is worth something different to each team? Ever think of that? On one team he may be an Ace/future 3rd baseman and on another team Cahill becomes a 5th starter or Wright is a stop gap until a young 3rd base prospect makes it to the majors? They are valuable in different ways to different teams and no one seems to get that. Unless this trade was Trayce Thompson for David Wright...dont get veto happy and let the other GMs play the game.

Does the fact that Thompson is a top 10 White Sox's prospect mean he's basically worthless? Not in my opinion. He's 20 yrs old and already hits 20+ homers in single A.He's raw,but shows good power and is young enough to become a good MLB player.
The fact that Cahill is having a bad season doesn't mean he's on the decline. i hate to repeat myself, but he's also young and has already proven in the big leagues he can be a solid #2 pitcher, maybe even an ace.
Putting Fukudome in this deal puzzles me. His contract is up,so he's basically a filler. But with tags you can keep him for 3 more years so even that is worth something.
Putting these 3 players together i value them equal to a injury-prone Wright. When healthy it would maybe be lop-sided,but even then not worth vetoing for.
A veto should only be used in case of collusion or a lop-sided deal that would impact the league in a negative way. Not because someone thinks this deal isn't exactly 50-50.
And it saddens me that i have to write such a long argument only to approve a trade. This shouldn't be necessary. But i felt it was important to express my opinion here.
But now for my vote.
Approve.

ESPN's Mid-season keeper rankings have Wright at 19, while Cahill is 88. Is Thompson really the difference maker? Mind you, Cahill has been slipping since then and Wright has come back and been pretty good. sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/baseball/flb/story?id=6728993PS - Sorry for "modifying" your post, just clicked the button by accident but didn't actually change anything.

Veto. Maybe deal Gallardo if you want such a top bat Mike. Just saying, you NEED to give up more valuable pitching or prospects for hitting... and I've failed at it so far as well. So we're in the same boat.
I've realized we do veto. And I'm definitely going to cut it down. But when I do veto I'm going to put in what I THINK needs to be put in to make it worthwhile for a player.

Sorry guys, this deal is vetoed. But we may have a TC coming soon, so deals should be easier to pass.
Sorry about this. I think you're really close.
