Hear me out...
I have a ton of big contracts that I want to unload, but unlike myself, many teams are tight on cap. Why not do it like the MLB and have parts of salaries paid for?
I do it in my otherwise-sloppy league (in my sig) that doesn't have a master list. It makes the league much, much better.
Please consider this. Trust me, it should work.

make it like a certain percent. like each team is allowed to trade X% of their salary cap and each team can be X% above the salary cap

That's complicating it, which Alex points out he doesn't want, and I agree. I forgot to add this (which we do in my league)...only the team gaining cap room in that particular trade can cover salaries (but not to the point where they're losing cap.
