Pirates TRADE: -- Joe Kelly BOS SP/RP, $800K (2) -- Pick 2.01 (PIT)
Indians TRADE: -- Matt Wieters BAL C, $12.5M ($18.5M thru 2015) -- $9.37M in 2014 on Wieters -- $7.5M in 2015 on Wieters
I accept. Got my C. This team is shaping up to be quite amazing. Good luck Mike.

I accept. Kelly should be pretty cheapp moving forward, and my SP is dung. Wieters will be gone after 2015 and is also a bit expensive. The first pick of the 2nd round is nice, too. So yea. Not as exciting as the real deadline deals today, but still a good one. Good luck, Max.

Veto. I feel this is really light. A marginal pitcher for a guy who was looked at as a top 8 catcher. Add in all the salary cap relief on top of that and I just can't give an approval.

Veto, Kelly isn't even slotting into Boston's rotation yet and he's going to the AL East.

Veto, Cite reasons above. Need 1 more veto to officially veto.

Approve. You can argue about the value difference but it isn't enough to change the competitive landscape of the league. I say let these two very experienced owners make their own choices

While I agree with Matt that the salary given probably too much. I am of the belief that owners should be allowed to make deals how they want (unless way overboard). I approve.

This trade shouldn't have gone through. A deal requires 75% of votes to approve?

No where in our rules does it talk about 75%. 9 approves automatically pushes a trade through and 4 vetoes automatically cancels it. If neither of these numbers are hit, the ratio of approves to vetoes is what determines the outcome.

The trade passed 4-3. And I'm not even sure what is not fair here? So one guy is getting a catcher who can't stay healthy and has a large contract next year but then hits free agency, while the other team receives a cheap reliever (maybe a starter) and the first pick of the second round? I'm not sure I see what is so lopsided here?

Well weiters was batting over .300 before he got injured and many feel as though he was finally becoming the stud he was slated to be all along.
