Red Sox get:
Ervin Santana ($12, $12) James Russell ($2.6, $2.9, 3.2) $2m off of Santana's salary for 2014 and 2015
Padres Get
RA Dickey ($9) and $6 toward his salary for 2014 Glen Perkins ($2.2) and $1.5 toward his salary for 2014 Jonathan Papelbon ($9, $9) and $6 toward his 2014 salary
I get a good pitcher for next year and give up 2 expiring contracts and an expensive closer.

I accept. I'm losing my long term flexibility but I'm boosting my bullpen for a run this year.

Couple quick updates to make this trade work. I don't think we need a revote, but if you feel otherwise, please let us know.
To make the cap work, Santana will have $8MM of his salary covered by the Padres, instead of $2MM, and the Padres will receive the Red Sox 6th round pick as compensation for the extra salary. Let me know if you disagree with this. Thanks

Just to clarify, it will be $8m on Santana for 2014. The $2m on 2015 will remain the same.
