SCORING AND SCHEDULE
SCORING - H2H POINTS
These are the current scoring categories for BKDB.
HITTING
PITCHING
STARTS LIMIT
Teams are limited to ten starts by pitchers during the course of one game (one week). This is monitored by the league scoring site, Fantrax. It was put in place in order to prevent teams from stockpiling pitchers and creating an unrealistic roster relative to the MLB.
If a team has less than 10 starts heading into the last scoring day of the period, Fantrax does not negate points accrued by any extra starts that occur on the last day of the scoring period. Consequently, the commissioner will retroactively adjust scoring by removing the starting pitcher/s who's games started latest in the day when the team exceeded the 10 start limit.
On the two longer matchups of the season that stretch eleven days (first matchup of the year and all-star break matchup), the pitcher starts limit will be increased from 10 starts to 16 starts. This is pro-rated amount for the increased amount of games, which will be regulated by our scoring site, Fantrax.
SCHEDULE
Our regular season is 19 games in total. Each game is one week. Teams will play each team in their division twice every season, and play no team more than twice. Teams will play 3 interleague games a year against the three teams from the divisions in the other league that finished in the same position in their division as you the previous season. The other eight games are against teams in your own league.
So for example, the Yankees finish second in the AL East in a season. Their schedule the next season would be:
8 games against the other 4 teams in the AL East
8 games against the rest of American League (playing no team more than once)
3 games against the second place finishers from the NL East, NL Central, and NL West
Playoffs begin immediately following the final regular season game.
PLAYOFFS
Playoff seeding tie breakers are determined by the amount points scored for a team. The second tie breaker is head-to-head matchups.
The playoffs will consist of the three division winners plus three wild cards. The top two seeded division winners from each league will receive a first round bye. The playoff structure is as follows:
Wild Card Round
- #3 seed (division winner with lowest win total) vs. #6 seed (last Wild Card team)
- #4 seed (first Wild Card team) vs. #5 seed (second Wild Card team)
Division Series
- #1 seed (division winner with highest win total) vs. winner of #4/#5
- #2 seed (division winner with second highest win total) vs. winner of #3/#6 game
Championship Series
- Winners of both games in Division Series
World Series
- Winners from both American League and National League playoff bracket
All playoff matchups are hosted on Fantrax.
