www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/21506598/ex-atlanta-braves-gm-john-coppolella-placed-mlb-banned-list-team-loses-prospectsY'all see this? "Atlanta must forfeit Maitan, Ji Hwan Bae, Juan Contreras, Yefri del Rosario, Abrahan Gutierrez, Brandol Mezquita, Juan Carlos Negret, Yenci Peña, Angel Rojas, Yunior Severino, Livan Soto, Antonio Sucre and Guillermo Zuniga. All 13 players will become free agents and are eligible to sign with any team. Manfred also announced that the Braves have been prohibited from signing prospect Robert Puason." I have never seen this happen. Maitan will be finding a new home, and others. Just crazy!

Interested to see what happens to the development of these players. It's a good group of talented prospects, it will be nice to get updated scouting reports once they sign with new teams. It doesn't really seem like the punishment will necessarily hurt the Braves, they just have to operate at a different set of rules, they can take advantage of their international scouting department by utilizing it to acquire players already signed. Seems like the Braves might be getting off pretty easy even though MLB is trying to be harsh. For John Coppolella, it was going to be difficult for him to have a job as anything other than consulting, this ban just makes him find a different way to make a paycheck. It seems plausible that other teams are going to get found out in the future and will face the same penalties as the Red Sox and now the Braves, the Pirates might have acted quickly enough by firing Reno Gayo. Crazy times.

Anyone know of any potential landing spots for Maitan? Obviously, everyone would love to have him, but specifically?
