Indians accept.
I really like this return for Scherzer as I stated in the previous trade. I think that it is a fair return for the best pitcher in baseball.

Veto because you're wrong. He's not the best pitcher in baseball. #JV

Veto. I really try to not vote rather than to veto but I really hate this deal for the Indians. Essentially he is giving The best pitcher in baseball (sorry Travis) to the Giants at $0 next year by paying 75% of Scherzer’s salary while eating $9M for the corpse of Tulo. In return for a free Scherzer next year and a sub $9M Scherzer in 2020, he gets Soroka who could be good, and Dominic Smith who needs to get traded before the Mets ruin him. Kopech’s control has backed up and he’s walked 56 batters in 82+ IP to go with a 4.70 ERA. Isan Diaz is hitting .232 in AA after hitting .222 in High A last year and the rest of the package is completely fungible.
Scherzer’s has scored 374 points this year..just 20 fewer than the league measuring stick, Aaron Judge. And he costs $0 in 2019 and $8.75M in 2020....all for a promising but unproven pitching prospect and a hitter whose team won’t give him a chance. Just one guy’s opinion but yikes!

While there's some risk in the prospects, I think this is a better prospect package than I gave Arizona for Chris Sale. Granted, this is three years of cap coverage, which is a significant risk for Cleveland financially, but I think the group of players gives them a much better chance at future success than Scherzer does going forward. It is inappropriate for me to continue a negative dialogue in this thread, especially when the trade doesn’t involve me but I have to point out that the Sale trade also included a MLB SP in Danny Salazar, a guy that had shown the ability to be very good at the MLB level. I’d also point out that citing a past bad trade to justify a current bad trade might not be the best road to travel.

I see the Royals point of view. But currently, Kopech has same value as he did to start the year, even though he's struggling this year. Smith I agree, has not panned out and i'm losing faith as well there. The issue for me is the money over next two years. Paying 8.75 mil for Max? Better be a hell of a return. I think maybe this return might be on small side, but it's not crazy far off for a veto to me. Royals point of view is sound. But i'm gonna approve
