MLB Playoffs Bracket Challenge

I am just setting this up for now so everyone knows about it, but will post the bracket when it is set on Sunday.

Post predictions here for the playoffs and we will see who is most right at the end. I will score it similar to how ESPN scores NCAA bracket challenge.



Points allocated to correctly picking a winner:

5 bonus points for each series in which you get the correct winner and correct number of games after the wild card round
10 points for Wild Card Round
20 points for Divisional Series Round
40 Points for Championship Series
80 points for World Series

Congrats! You all start with 60 points for correctly picking whether the top 3 seeds on each side beat the bye or not!

Updated leaderboard for the WC games...

1. The most popular picks both lost. I think we got too cute with the A's as a group.

2. 3 people picked Boston to win the World Series, everyone else picked a different team and are the only ones to have picked that team. Atl, Oak, CHC are the only teams not selected to win the world series (and two of them are already eliminated.)

3. Rockies correctly picked both of the Wild Card games and was the only one to do so.

4. Bonus points for game predictions starts in the DS. If you haven't posted your games predictions (Padres, Cubs, Pirates, and Nationals) you may still do it, but to get the bonus points you have to correctly pick the team that wins as well. I have recorded team predictions, so you can not change that.

5. The favorites per our group this round are LAD, MIL, HOU, and BOS.

Updated for the Divisional Series Results...

1. Rockies continued a great stretch going 6/6 thus far in the playoffs. For those wondering he has Mil beating Bos in the WS.

2. Blue Jays are the only other team with a 4/4 performance in the DS. I have Bos over Mil in the WS.

3. Bonus points for game predictions netted the Rockies and Jays 10 points, while the Dbacks, Cle, and Astros each got 5.

4. The Padres surface of the sun hot take bracket has been busted. He will finish with 90 points getting the Rockies in the WC game and the Astros in the DS correct.

5. Joining the Padres as the teams with their champion eliminated (Col) are the Cubs (Cle) and Pirates (NYY).

6. Group picks went 4/4 as well last week after a disappointing 0/2 in the WC round. This week the group has selected Bos and Mil (each with 4 votes).

Updated for the Championship Series round. Sorry for the Delay the client I am current working on has proboards locked and I forgot to update in my hotel the other night.

1. Possible winners of the bracket challenge: Astros (IF Red Sox Wins) and Diamondbacks (If Dodgers Win)

2. The Group went 1/2 last round and has Boston winning the World Series. (Was the preplayoffs favorite and the only team to get multiple votes (3).

3. Rockies had a good run getting the first 7 series correct, but having their champ lose was a huge blow and now can only finish in a tie for second at best and 4th at worst.

As for most correct predictions (just didn't get the big ones right) Rockies and Cubs each got 12 to win that category.
