See previous discussion. This poll pits the current role against the most popular suggestion from the previous thread here: baseknock.proboards.com/thread/8696/reliever-eligibility-thresholdCurrent Rule If the any of the following are met or exceeded, then the pitcher accrues one year of service time: - 50 IP Proposed Rule If the any of the following are met or exceeded, then the pitcher accrues one year of service time: - 50 IP - 10 GS - 20 relief appearances

I vote for whichever one Will doesn’t want.

Good idea. This will more fairly adjust relievers pre-arb years with starters. To make it simpler... maybe we could just do 50 IP and 20 relief appearances? One less thing to check when going through all those guys in the off-season.

I think you can make that decision. I thought the 10 GS threshold was overkill and likely will always overlap with the 50 IP threshold anyway.

I like this new proposal. My original suggestion was aimed at making it so (starting) pitchers couldn't burn a year of eligibility just through September call-ups. I think it's been successful in that, but this makes for a great counter-weight to fix the negative side effects.

I'd be up for this or lowering the reliever threshold to 30 IP vs starter threshold of 50 IP. To determine a guy who does both in a year, just go with whichever he had more of (GS or RA). But generally speaking, very in favor of differing b/w RP and SP

Yep. 15-2 is a landslide. This will no be the new rule for 2019 regarding pitchers and their years of service. Hopefully this will make it more fair across starters and relievers.

Will this count towards free agency after the 2019 season?
