We have rules about being active, but really don’t have any sort of procedure for enforcement of setting lineups. I don’t know what the right answer is, but this will be an issue every season so we might as well discuss recourse for this sort of action.
My proposal that I am not attached to at all is that the tanking teams police themselves and could protest a result of another team based on intentionally leaving points available. (To be clear this isn’t a case of underperformance, but more a reasonable you benched a starting pitcher for a pitcher in the minors situation)
Tanking teams all are incentivized to lose, but in this case they are also incentivized to check on what other tanking teams are doing.
We could add a penalty to any team seen intentionally benching players with an additional 50 draft points or a phantom win if it happens too often.
Like I said, I don’t know what the right answer is, but I think we do need to put a system in place to curb the intentional benching of players to get L’s. This is not the first time we have had the issue and it won’t be the last.

This is a good proposal... a bit difficult because it's subjective to who checks when. Need to figure out a better system going forward... perhaps week's of benching playable players could be listed in a thread each year and then a penalty could be assessed at the end of the season? Doing this week to week is a bit much.

Well I guess my thought is this would be a way for all of the rebuilders to be engaged since other teams results directly effect them in their pursuit to tank better. Like I said I don’t know what the right answer is, I am more just trying to get to a reasonable solution not to stop tanking, but to stop benching of players to get a loss and to keep everyone engaged.
