Rockies trade: RP, Liam Hendriks ($11m '21) - FA RP, Luke Jackson ($800k ' 21) - ARB eligible
Yankees trade: SP/RP, Eli Morgan ($300k) - 1 of 7 SP/RP, J.B. Bukauskas ($300k) - 1 of 7 OF, Taylor Trammell ($300k) - 1 of 7 NYY 2022 5th
Rockies confirm. I don't like my chances to be able to retain Hendriks even in restricted free agency. I wasn't sure about keeping Jackson either. Decided to ship them out for some cheap depth pieces heading forward. Good talks, Yanks!

I understand I won't be good next year, or even the year after, but this is a step in the right direction. I get Trammell is decently high rated as a spec, but I think he is going to be mostly a defensive asset for the Mariners in an already stacked future outfield (Kelenic, J-Rod, Haniger, Lewis, etc). As for Hendriks, I am planning on Franchise tagging him.

Veto
I don’t know if I can understate how out of balance this deal is.
The spec/y1 pieces are in the show or close, whereas there will be ample RPs available in FA or trade
Specifically I would approve maybe one of those first three pieces for Hendricks, and even that is a stretch in my view. I have no issue with a 5th for LuJax

I echo what my cousin, Tim said. Veto for a lot of the same reasons.
I also still believe in the young Trammell. Trammell for Hendriks would still be a veto for me.

Veto. I completely agree with both Tims. If you're looking for a franchise tag than there are a lot of options out there that should be a lot cheaper and for less of a cap hit.
