My proposals to rename a couple aspects of our league to better reflect what they're there for.
- I think we should change the MiLB Draft to the International Draft. We draft unowned MiLB Players in both drafts, so it doesn't make sense to only call one draft that. The real purpose of that second draft is to get the international J2/Jan. 15 guys that become available. We should name it as such.
- I think we should rename "Prospect Protection" to just "Team Control" in the rules. It's the first three years of a team's control over players when they hit the majors and are paid $300k, $800k, and $800k in their first three full MLB seasons. We never refer to Prospect Protection as a thing... so why have it in the rules to confuse new owners?
- I think we should rename the Franchise Tag to Team Extension. It's really not a franchise tag at all like in the NFL which is a one year thing... rather it's an extension teams can offer to one player every year for up to three seasons. Renaming it would clarify that for new owners that enter the league.
