Hey guys!
The 2022 International Draft is right around the corner, starting on Tuesday, February 15th. As per usual, if someone wants to post their pick early... I'm not objected to that. There will be no draft clock until February 15th though.
Here's an overview again of the International Draft (formerly MiLB Draft). As a reminder, please review the age and experience requirements for players outside the USA. **Seiya Suzuki is not eligible for this draft. Good luck!
DRAFT DETAILS
The International Draft consists any unowned players in BKDB that qualify as a prospect (no season with more than 130 AB or 50 IP, 10 GS, or 20 RA) and any international free agents signed to an MLB team that are either under the age of 23 or have not played five or more seasons in a league recognized by Major League Baseball (the players who do not meet these criteria are available via International Free Agency). There is no list of available prospects. Teams must do their own research to find who is available to be drafted.
If a team releases a prospect during the draft, teams may only draft that player in the round after the player was released.
The International Draft is ordered inversely based on 1. Wins and 2. Points Scored from the previous season. The International Draft will last six rounds. Teams have 24 hours to make their selection, but are encouraged to make their pick as soon as possible.
INTERNATIONAL DRAFT PICK TRADING
Teams may not trade International Draft picks. This draft is intended to help replenish farm systems for all teams and deepen rosters.
DRAFT SELECTION
When drafting a player, a team must post the player's name, position and MLB team.
If a team drafts a player that would've caused the team to go over the salary cap, that team will be warned and told to create cap space for the draft pick and the rest of their draft. If a team again exceeds the salary cap by a draft pick in the same draft, that draft pick is then forfeited and the player is then available to be drafted again.
If a team does not make their draft pick in the 24 hours slot, they will be skipped, but have the opportunity to make up their pick before the end of the round. If they do not make up their pick before the end of the round, the pick is forfeited. These teams will remain on auto-skip for the duration of the draft unless they request to be taken off auto-skip or make up their pick from the previous round before the round ends.
Drafted players will receive a salary of $300k per season until they reach the majors.
Teams may not trade players they select until after the round in which they selected the player is over.
