Hey guys,
Just creating a thread to post updates on the MLB Lockout. Currently, here's the only changes:
- Games from March 31-April 6 have been cancelled. - We will have to move to an 18 game schedule currently with the first week of games being from April 7-17. We will need support in creating the new schedule, perhaps from Stephen? Is there a logical game to cut from our current format? Another option is to just keep our 19 game schedule and play the World Series later into September. We have avoided that in the past due to players sometimes resting during that final week to gear up for the playoffs. I haven't noticed this being a problem as much in recent years. Thoughts?
The new CBA is sure to bring ideas for changes to our league that we may or may not decide to implement. Some that have been discussed that could be relevant to us are a draft lottery and expanded playoff field.
Thanks!

I would like to push the schedule back a week and keep 19 games for historical congruity, with the WS ending on 9/25. MLB season runs until 10/2 so we still have some buffer for the end of season shenanigans.

If we have a lottery draft, we could even have Ernst & Young certify the results like the NBA does!

I think any decision on the schedule shouldn't be made until the lockout ends. They will have a ramp-up period to the season in which we can make decisions during that time. Until then, we will just be making and changing decisions that may or may not come to fruition.
