GM's were selected based on a league vote on nominated GM's.
2022 American League GM of the Year
Will - GM, Houston Astros 2021 Record: 14-5 2022 Record: 18-1
Will takes home his second GM of the Year award in 2022, winning eighteen games and losing just two games (including the playoff loss) in all of 2022. Houston added over 1,000 points to their point total from the previous season, along with improving an already terrific 2021 record of 14-5 to 18-1 in 2022. Will has continued to add quality players to his team via fantastic trades to get his team in a great position come playoff time. He has never had to fully rebuild during his time during the league and yet continues to produce high quality rosters year after year. This was the highest scoring season in Astros team history, and Will's fourth 7,000 point season in the past six years. Great work this year, Will!
2022 National League GM of the Year
Nik - GM, St. Louis Cardinals 2021 Record: 13-6 2022 Record: 17-2
In just his second season as GM in St. Louis, Nik brought his club all the way to a World Series appearance and near victory. Few GM's have proven to be so successful so soon entering this league, and Nik has been clearly one of that group. He made risky trades and pushed his chips into the middle to put the best roster possible out there for this season. He has to be commended for that. In 2022, the Cardinals scored nearly 1,000 points more than any previous Cardinals team in league history, and their 17 wins was easily also the best mark for St. Louis. Great work, Nik!
