Young pitchers are always a bit of a crapshoot, so opting for the guy with a big league rotation spot to help my team immediately.

Main goal this off-season has been finding ways to field a competitive team in 2023 without pushing all the chips in on this year with rentals/short-term additions. Wanted one more arm to feel good about the rotation, excited to add Gore to the rotation for the long-haul.

I’m in a position to take a chance on two guys here, one in Abel who I see no reason why he can’t be as good as Gore and another in Baez who is the type of high risk/high reward secondary piece in a deal that will make or break my rebuild.
