I accept. Giving up some solid long term potential here in Moniak who has been awesome in the majors and Melendez who has been awesome in the minors. Not to mention a mostly paid (between salary and salary dump) Castellanos who is a solid everyday low 3’s PPG guy himself. But I had an available franchise tag and figure that I can turn around and get something big for Snell if I am patient. Good luck Thomas, glad we could get this done

I love Snell, but this allows me to shed one of my two franchise tag candidates and get back a couple of long-term pieces I like. Moniak has finally put together a nice run at the MLB level, and with impending free agents in the LAA outfield, he looks lined up to be a starter there long term. Castellanos adds an experienced bat to my outfield that has struggled to stay healthy for most of the season. Finally, Melendez is a really exciting piece who looks like he could be a starter in a year or two, with Christian Walker starting to creep toward FA.

Good luck with the continued rebuild, "Max!" I hope Snell turns into that big piece for you or is still around when you're competitive next!
