I get to move some cap back plus add an actually decent starter to my rotation in Darvish. Mostly I need to win week 1 against LAA to improve my playoff odds substantially and I think this trade helps me do that first and foremost. I like the upside on Teoscar going to LAD as well. Extra tax was paid due to Darvish having Comp B already.

Able to add two quality additional picks in next years draft. Moving Yu before the season was essentially an insurance policy in case he sustained an injury at some point this year.

Teoscar was on year 7 of Arb B.

I think Floyd has a good chance of moving quickly in CIN as well.

Looking to try and be relevant beginning next year with some prospects finally coming up this season (hopefully).
