Pirates TRADE: — Kyle Gibson STL SP, $15M (2024+option) — Jeff Hoffman PHI RP, $1M (2024+option) — $11.2M (~75%) on Gibson in 2024 — $0.7M (70%) on Hoffman in 2024
Cardinals TRADE: — Julian Aguiar CIN RHP, Prospect — Joander Suarez NYM RHP, Prospect — 2025 FYPD 1st (STL)
I accept. Was seeking a 1st + a solid prospect for Gibson and feel I got that here, so no need to drag things out into a bidding war. Good luck Nik, thanks for easy talks

Accept. Good things happen when Gibson’s pitch in St. Louis.
My rotation was missing one reliable starter and Gibson has been reliable for 170+ inning several years in a row.

Veto. With both pitchers being rentals and listed as RP, the first is way too much of a swing for me to ok. Historically RPs would go for middle/late picks in the shorter draft. So getting a 1st in our now 12 rounder is unnecessary and inconsistent. Not a fan of throwing vetos around but these colors don’t rhyme.

He has made 300 MLB appearances and 294 of them have been starts. He signed a 1 year $13M deal with the Cardinals IRL and I don’t think that’s mop up reliever money

Approve. I don’t see how this veto worthy at all, seems to be a pretty standard trade historically.

This deal is voided due to cap violation for the Cardinals.
