Phillies trade:
Christopher Sanchez 17.5 w/option (13.1 covered on both years) Justin Topa 2 of 7
Rockies trade:
Carlos Estevez 4.4 Brice Turang 2 of 7 5th Round pick
Phillies accept. Was looking to move Sanchez but wanted a controllable piece in return. Turang is an intriguing young player and getting a draft pick is always a plus. Reliever swap done mostly for cap reasons. Good luck this year Alex!

Rockies confirm. Depth chart at 2B is clogged and I’m not sure Turang’s bat will get him in the lineup enough… Sanchez is a nice upside arm on an affordable deal with the cap coverage. Needed another starter for the rotation without giving Max a 1st round pick.

26.2M in cap coverage in total. 13.1M next year is what really matters. Seems like a really light package considering what Max got for Gibson. 13.1M in cap cover next year, wow.

Approve Not going to change my vote because I stick to my principles regardless of who is involved in the trade and try not to trade against my previously displayed principles, but do want to echo Kyle's comments here. Similar deals have been vetoed by the veto-happy contingent before, ones that seemed far less egregious to me than moving an ever-valuable SP with a rotation spot and some history (even a short one) of quality production

There was only one vetoed trade this offseason that had as much to do about Pete Alonso as the SP involved. This is not too dissimilar to the Kremer standalone trade, which while most agreed was not a great return for an SP, did not receive a single veto
