Agreed. Things haven't gone my way this season, but it was fun being somewhat in the playoff conversation. I trade for Darvish who is Comp B eligible and a few more picks. I also get a couple of young bats who are starting to heat up recently. Not a bad return for some expiring contracts.

Springer needs 242.50 points over the next 53 games in order to lock up a B Comp. That would put him at a 4.58 PPG pace over that stretch. 12 guys have a higher PPG this season. One of those guys is Reece Hinds who was briefly up and another is Josh Jung who has been hurt for most of the season. So Springer would have to be a top 10 hitter for the rest of the season without having a day off. It's not impossible but I wouldn't put money on it. Springer's last 30 days pace is below that mark.

Mets GM (James) and I checked that Springer's contract is actually $13.7. To keep net exchange at zero, we both agree to increase Smyly's compensation from $0.4 to $2.1.
