Hope everyone had a terrific Christmas!
Here's a little timeline of the off-season so far, things that have been changed, and things to come.
First of all, Free agency was better than expected, teams are nearing cap, and this will be great for increased parity in the league.
Second,
We're going to use a 50-man roster for this year. MLB players can no longer be in the minor leagues with the 70 man prospect limit. Because of the short notice, it will be 50 players, next year, we're back to a 40-man roster. This will be due March 25th at the Roster Setting Deadline.
Third,
We're going to ESPN for scoring! As soon as ESPN allows leagues to be created, i'll get it started. Players won't be added til March 25th however.
Fourth,
I think the consensus on the MiLB draft and International players was this:
We'll have an MiLB draft of all players released as minor leaguers, players drafted in the MLB but not drafted in our draft, and NO international players.
The International free agents that have SIGNED with an MLB team will have silent bidding done on them. This will be done towards the start of the season, since most will have either been signed or have gone back to their own country.
The MiLB draft will take place during mid-January. I'll have a list of most eligible players out before then.
Finally,
I've been creating a League Transactions (long overdue), I should have them done by break. This will have all signings, trades, and releases.
Thanks,
Alex

I suggest holding the draft in late February when agencies start to rank prospects for next year.

Sound like a good plan... we won't having anything going on then either. Plus, it gives me more time for rankings and stuff.
