The Athletics acquire: OF Josh Reddick (300k) RHP Kyle Wieland (300k)
The Red Sox acquire: 3B Mike Olt (300k) Pick 3.31 (Compensation for losing OF Juan Pierre to free agency)
It is nice to have Wieland be the compensation for Juan Pierre, who will be a nice little piece for the future. Olt for Reddick was the other component

Not only has Reddick been a top OF this year in the middle of the A's lineup, he also is young and cost controlled. Not to mention Wieland, before going down with injury, was a decent number 4-5 starter. This is definitely not enough for those two.

Red Sox accept trade (sorry it's so late, wasn't around yesterday).
My farm system in in dire need of talent. Looking to grow from the bottom up, while maintaining talent I can reply on three years from now.

I'm gonna have to Veto this trade.
Olt is barely a top 50 prospect. Not really a sure thing. Not to mention he's with a franchise that has a top 3B at the moment. Although i believe Olt won't stay at 3rd base, but that's beside the point.
Reddick is tearing it up in a pitcherfriendly ballpark. It's no coincidence the Red Sox were very high on this guy. Wieland has a floor of being a good relief pitcher with potential to be a starter, which he already has done in the MLB i might add.
Those 2 for a 40-50 spec and a mid-level draftpick,that's to lop-sided.
VETO

(3-4) Time is up, and this trade has been vetoed. It will need to be reworked and resubmitted for voting.
