Athletics Trade: Jameson Tallion $0.3 (Minors) Keyvius Sampson $0.3M (Minors) Robbie Erlin $0.3M (Minors)
Tigers Trade: Tim Stauffer 12: 1.6M 12: 2.1M 12: 2.6M Jaime Garcia (12: $400k 13-15: Arbitration) Mark Melancon $0.4M Hunter Pence 12: 10.5M 13: 14.5M 14: 18.5M
I accept. It was a tough call to rebuild, but I think I can still remain competitive next year even with this move, while rebuilding my farm system. I can about 20M in cap space from this trade, which is also big, and i get a top 10 prospect, and two other really good prospects to give my farm an extra boost along with the Josh Bell trade.

I never do this but...I am vetoing this trade. 4 Major leaguers are not worth 3 minor leaguers even if Taillon is one of them. This has to be the most lopsided trade I have seen in this league so far. Garcia is very good, Pence is almost all star status every year, stauffer has been very good when healthy, and to top it all off they have great contracts!
Even if Taillon was already an Ace he might not be worth this trade.
Once again, I veto this trade

Jared, you're not alone in having a misunderstanding in Pence's value. Outside of an outstanding 2011 season, he's been only an above-average outfielder. This shows me that 2011 is more likely an anomaly than a trend.
His .330 OBP and .440 SLG this season will more likely go down than up, considering his new home park. He's just not such a great hitter, especially from a CI position. The contract doesn't look so great now.
Jaime had a 2011 that was so far from "very good" and an injury-laden 2012 that has been even worse.
Stauffer falls under the "meh" category for pitchers; plus, he's not healthy. He's probably what I'd call a mediocre starter.
What Tigers is receiving is a prospect that projects as an ace, plus two other spects that are far from throw-ins.
I absolutely, positively approve this deal. And while prospects aren't a sure thing, I have the statistics to back up my claims about the major leaguers.

Pence is only above average?!? That's pretty good! He is a major leaguer and has 317 points this year. He is the 27th best outfielder in our league. Don't forget that our league doesn't count stats Indians, it counts points. Garcia has over 130 points in his injured year and is about to come back. Stauffer is once again a major leaguer who will earn points when he comes back. Melancon is the only weak link of this trade.
I never veto trades and I am all for letting GMs do what they want but this trade is ridiculous.
A top outfielder and two number 3 pitchers are worth far more than those 3 minor leaguers.

Veto! It's one thing to succeed in the minors, but Pence, Garcia, Stauffer, and even Melancon are all proven pros and hold much more value than any prospects- even if Taillon is one of them! Pence is being seriously underrated in this deal which seems very lopsided. Tigers is just giving up too much here.

Veto. Tigers could trade Pence alone for 1 of the prospects. In my opinion, Garcia could command two. Garcia was dominate last year before going down with an injury. Through in Tim Stauffer (who was the best pitcher on the Padres staff, albeit not a very great one, last year before the injury) and Mark Melancon (who I admit has been terrible) and this isn't worth it.
I would probably approve if Pence/Garcia weren't involved and a smaller piece was included. But these are two top fantasy performers.

Pence is being seriously underrated in this deal which seems very lopsided. Tigers is just giving up too much here. Pence is definitely a proven MLB player but is a bit overrated. Garcia has easily had one of the bumpiest paths amongst SP's lately, Stauffer can't stay healthy, and Melancon has a 7.46 ERA and is a AAAA pitcher.

Going to have to agree with other teams here. If traded individually, you could get a way better package. i didn't know it was like Sam's Club where the more you send the less you pay.

Veto. I agree as well. Quite lopsided (and yes I know that Noah is gonna cry about my always vetoing his trades). I know that Tigers is rebuilding but goodness that's unfair. Try again boys

Sorry guys.....Veto....(4-6). I think OAK needs to add more...i don't really see where DET could take away given what it seems OAK wanted....so I would say for OAK to add another really good prospect, or a couple mid level type of guys. DET should be getting a much better package of prospects given what he's giving up in the deal as well as what OAK has at his disposal to make a deal like that happen.
