The Chicago White Sox agree to sending:
Mike Minor 13) .4M Round two draft pick in amature draft
In return for
Clay Bucholz 13) 2.5M (Rangers pay 3M on year one of Clay's contract)
I have centered my trades mostly around pitching and I think Bucholz will be a solid guy backing up (hopefully) Hallady. I don't need a round two pick I feel my farm team is in good shape and I got Clay for a price. It's been nice working with you Rangers I look forward to more deals being done in the future.
Windy City White Sox, Clayton M

I confirm. I really like Minor and I save a couple million this season and a bunch in the next few seasons. Also I get a pick back thats nice to have after i traded a few away. Nice working with you as well Clayton, glad your apart of this league.

IMO Minor is better then Bucholz, not to mention he's 3 years younger. ESPN has Minor ranked as the 50th best SP going into 2013, while they rank Bucholz 65th. Now I don't 100% agree with their rankings, but it would seem to imply that they are fairly even. I'm not sure why CHW included the 4th pick of the 2nd round (34th overall) on top of the better, younger, less expensive player in the deal.

I am assuming this applies to all drafts? Yes, but this is the amateur draft, which is months away.

Only applies to first year player draft. Not minor league draft

We have two prospect drafts per year in this league...we have an "MiLB Draft", and an "Amateur Draft". We are currently conducting our leagues MiLB draft. This trade involves an amateur draft pick.
The draft picks in our MiLB draft are not allowed to be traded ever. Only the picks in our amateur draft are tradable. Our amateur draft is held in the summer, shortly after the real MLB draft signing deadline has passed.
