The Houston Astros trade:
1B/2B/3B Jeff Keppinger 2013 $3.3m 2014 $3.8m
Eric O'Flaherty 2013 $1.9m 2014 $2.4m
to the Chicago White Sox for:
2B Gordon Beckham 2013 $2.4m 2014 $4.4m 2015 $6.4m
Logan Morrison $0.4m(4th year)
SS Marco Hernandez $0.3m(minors)
Chicago White Sox 2013 amateur draft 4th round pick Chicago White Sox 2013 amateur draft 5th round pick
I accept I'm loosing LoMo who I like but I got some solid OF and I loose Beckham but I think Keppinger is an upgrade for sure. I defiantly feel I'm weakening my farm team, but Im making a push for a better team now. Thanks Astros

Veto, Flaherty and Kepp is not an upgrade. Keep the prospects imo.

Sorry, I usually don't like to veto, but I have to on this one. I agree with Austin, both players are not an upgrade IMO, and Beckham has the job secured for now in CHI and Kepp doesn't. LoMo is also going to be more valuable to your team than O'Flaherty. You also give up a lot of good young talent.
(1-2)

Approve... Honestly dont see anything wrong with it. I lose confidence in lomo every year and kepp is due. Fair value, good trade.

Veto, Flaherty and Kepp is not an upgrade. Keep the prospects imo. Keppinger isn't an upgrade? Must be why he's in high demand and is eligible at three positions. Beckham has had one good year out of the four he's been in the show. LoMo is overrated honestly. Oflatery is a prime reliever and is going to be the best in my pen. I also Austin only vetoes my trades, he has voted on three of my trades and all of the votes where vetoes.

Yes, I'm supposed to wait for a 5th vote, but this deal isn't fair and I'm pretty sure 'Stros knows it. Whatever, though, a league is only as balanced as the owners make it to be.
Deal is official.

I also Austin only vetoes my trades, he has voted on three of my trades and all of the votes where vetoes. I'm entitled to my opinion. I'm a strong believer in Logan Morrison and the Braves pen is good enough where I don't see O'Flaherty doing much else than eating innings. He won't touch any meaningful relief innings since those are delegated to Venters and Kimbrel. Any reliever in his position doesn't hold much value since you'll probably be able to pick one up later in the season for extremely cheap. All in all I think that the value of LoMo combined with the youth of Beckham and the likely-hood that you will be able to garner solid prospects in both the 4th and 5th round of the amateur draft outweighs the value of a journeyman in Keppinger who although decent is pretty old and on a garbage team in the White Sox and O'Flaherty who is just another reliever and not much else.

Sorry, it's 2-2 here, which means deal is cancelled. I don't see that in the rules. I think there is a better argument for Austin's vetoes of Clayton's trades because "he would rather keep the prospects." He called Brad Peacock a solid prospect after his season last year and on a 4 yr @ $12m deal. Don't let Peacocks ERA brainwash you into thinking he can't be a solid contributor at the MLB level. He played in the PCL and had a FIP of just over 4. He could very easily turn his projections around this season.

Peacock isnt worth 12M a year for three more years. I can make a better investment for that kind of money, plus peacock doesn't average more than 5.2 inning a start and that's on a good day. He's also 25 and in his "prime" and has only had two of his five years with a positive win-loss ratio
