Padres Acquire:
Will Middlebrooks (.4M)
Carlos Quentin (.5M) (.5M) (.5M)
Trade should go through AFTER this match up with Derrick.
PS You cannot pay his entire salary, only 75%, so I put the money on Headley. It is the same thing in essence.

Quentins sore knee has been lingering on since spring and it's likely that he's playing injured right now. I dont think this is enough for a guy who was an MVP candidate last season.

I approve. I know there's a lot of differing opinions on Middlebook's future. But if you believe, as I do, that he can be a poor mans Ryan Zimmerman, then I think this is a fair deal when you consider the contracts situations of the players involved.

a feel this trade is very lopsided but i will trust in letting owners do what they want to do so i approve but Matt you couldve gotten more for Headley.

I think that Middlebrooks has a fairly high floor and can be a very good contributor (poor man's Zimm sounds accurate), so I think this deal is at least "fair enough".

This will apparently be approved, but I don't think that the fact that one player has more years should be a factor. It's really easy to resign guys in this league with the tags that we've given. Padres could've kept Headley for another 4,5 years.

I know he did. He needs to cut it to 20% and it would be nice to see his walk rate to at least 8%.
