Pirates TRADE: Mike Olt TEX 1B/3B, $300K (Prospect) Mets TRADE: Courtney Hawkins CWS 1B/OF, $300K (Prospect) and Jed Bradley MIL LHP, $300K (Prospect) and 2013 FYPD 1.20 (NYM)
Accept. Olt was never a favorite and his .180 AVG in Triple A at 24 years old proves that. He also has no spot in the bigs for a little bit. Good luck Mike!

Veto from me. Hawkins can mash and I think he will be a solid one, on top of him a 1st rounder seems a bit much for a guy who has literally been horrible with no major league roster spot for the foreseeable future. Bradley is decent as well but probably projects as a reliever for the Brew Crew.

Veto from me too. This seems like an awful lot for a guy who is road blocked and struggling.

Also 37% K rate. One of the worst seasons in the minors currently.

I find it pretty difficult to veto an all-prospect deal. We can all have differing views on these players but none of them have done anything in MLB to separate themselves from each other. Even if you think that one side is gaining more, vetoing a deal involving only prospects (and the main two are close in most rankings anyway) is really pushing the envelope.
Obviously, everyone has their own vote and I'm not even arguing my own deal. At the same time, remember that vetoes are used to keep the competitive balance of the league, and I can't say that this deal shifts that balance.

No offense to Max but I feel like having 8 first round picks is a little absurd. Also the Mets have pick 22 not 20.

Hell, I'm in one now where people "own" each draft. Last year one team had 5 top 10s, this year a guy has 6 of the Top 10, and next year one team is expected to (standings not final) have 8 of the Top 10. And the 20 vs 22 was my mistake Max

Austin, there's a reason he hasn't hit 1K points this season yet. If people are willing to the trade the picks, we can't "prevent" a team from having too many draft picks in the first round.
