D'backs get: Nelson Cruz '13 (11.7m)

Padres get: Gerardo Parra '13 (0.9m), '14 (1.4m), '15 (1.9m)

Ryan Vogelsong '13 (12.0m)

Seth Mejias-Brean minors (0.3m)

Padres accept

Although I planned to franchise Cruz at the end of the year this deal still gives me a shot in the NL and future financial flexibility. Even though Parra might be platooning now it should give me a little depth in the OF. Hopefully I can hit lightning in a bottle with Vogelsong because my SP's are losing their jobs or getting hurt. I get a good OF to Franchise after the season and I give up a pitcher coming off an injury with an expiring contract, a platooned OF, and a lower level prospect.
