Blue Jays send: Jered Weaver ($23.4M) with $3.1M paid
for
Pirates send: Ian Clarkin (prospect)
I get $20M in cap space and I lose a contract that I might not be able to keep next year, at least not keep cheaply, with Shields being a FA next season as well and I get a top prospect in Clarkin. Nice dealing with ya Max.
Pirates to approve.

Accept. Believe it or not, Clarkin is/was my 8th or 9th best pitching prospect. With the ridiculous amount of cap I have, why not add a proven ace who I can definitely tag following the season. Good luck Santiago!

Veto. Considering what was just traded for Weaver, I'm not sure how this one is remotely close.

Veto. I understand the reasoning, but I can't approve this deal. The Blue Jays needs to get more back than an 18 year old prospect.

Does this really alter the balance of the league? He's a good prospect and TOR frees up a whopping 20M of space, which is arguably worth more than Weaver

20M is not worth more than Weaver. If you look at what he could potentially get for 20M it's nothing compared to a top end SP. Not to mention, Clarkin is a good prospect but as you pointed out not even one of your best.

It shouldn't matter who else I have, rather what the player is and you say he is a good prospect. That's sufficient for a good SP on a one year deal mind you and $20M of cap relief to add a very good player or multiple solid pieces

No need to argue or try to "prove a point" guys. Kyle and Michael vetoed and gave their reasoning, I hold nothing against them, as of now the deal won't pass so if you want to work out another deal then send me a PM Max and lets move on.

I'll let it take its course. It's only 0-2 (with some shoddy reasoning). Stranger things have happened

Veto. After the season Weaver put up last year (not to mention his past success), one 19-year old prospect that's appeared in 3 professional games (with unflattering results) isn't enough in my opinion. Doesn't matter to me where he ranks on your individual prospect list, that's a nonfactor. I'm basing this on the fact that Clarkin hasn't produced yet, and, in my opinion, doesn't have enough hype to be considered good enough for that to be overlooked.

Well I guess this is cancelled. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion guys, and every trade has had to undergo league inspection.
