After acquiring Cano, I can afford to deal a very good player in Hill and pick up Puig who will fill a position of need for me.

Does the money from a previous trade go with the player? I was under the impression from the last trade I did that any salary cap relief from a trade stays with the team that it was given too. I would like to get some clarification from the commish or one of the mods before I vote. Thanks

Money from a previous trade does NOT go with a player. The Marlins are paying Arizona, not New York. This trade will have to be re-thought through...

Ok ... so apparently the trade is still on, but Arizona will cover the 28M for Puig for both seasons.

I agree with being able to get more for Puig but this trade does not hurt the league.

I don't know how this is a vetoable deal.

I don't like it, as I think you could do a lot better for Puig, but it is not vetoable to me.

At some point you can't just keep saying this doesn't hurt the league... Puig is probably the best up and coming player who could easily be the best player in the league in a few years. McCullers isn't even top 50... probably top 100. Aaron Hill is... well, over the hill and will only go downward after a bad season last year.
Veto. (3-3)

Especially with someone else paying the majority of Puigs salary this is lopsided.
Veto (3-4)
