Athletics Acquire: 2B Howie Kendrick (14.5M)(14.5M) OF Melky Cabrera (13M) SP Mike Foltywicz (300k) 14M in 2015 cash (some from melky some from howie)
White Sox Acquire: OF Anthony Alford (300k) 2B Tony Kemp (300k) SS Tanner Rahier (300k) OF Jake Marisnick (13M)(13M)(13M)
99% positive this is the deal. Correct me if I am wrong Clayton. Good dealing and good luck.
Tough to lose Marisnick, a long term starter and future star, but I get a similar replacement in the short term with Melky, and an upgrade at second base with Howie Kendrick. Tony Kemp is a favorite but the deal brought in a little bit of offense.

Alford and Kemp are admittedly good prospects, but it takes more than one good prospect to acquire a good player. Rahier has been awful since getting drafted, and Marisnick isn't close to the 13M he's getting paid. Take into account that in addition to the 13M Marisnick's getting paid, the White Sox are the ones covering salary, have to veto this one. Though with some more quality prospects going Chicago's way, could be passable down the road.

1st this is posted in the wrong area. Trade reviews are suppose to posted in trade reviews.
2nd, this is an easy veto. Horrible trade. I agree with most of what Mike said. Although I don't consider them "good" specs. Throw in the fact that Rahier is in legal trouble for allegedly beating up a woman. What you have is an extremely lopsided trade.
Veto (0-2)

Veto, much the same logic as Orioles. White Sox aren't getting enough, Athletics get both Kendrick and Cabrera, along with top #100 Minor Leaguer in Folt (According to MLB.com, which I honestly don't agree with that ranking), and Athletics get cash on top of that. Sox only get two players who bat in low .200's in their minor league careers in Rahier and Alford (Alford batted .320 in only 25AB's at one level, hardly enough AB's to count), and Kemp who is a solid prospect. Just needs more.

I will say though Noah, it's not your fault other teams accept a lopsided trade, that is the other teams fault. But the way trade vetoes are in the rules (which it is that way so this can be a more competitive league, which is good in my opinion), is only reason you get vetoed on some trades.

Veto. For the reasons stated above. Deal is cancelled.

I still don't know why we were all voting when the white sox never accepted...

But what if the white sox didn't agree to this? We should wait until they are accepted

Well it's all on the assumption the other team will confirm. How often does a team not accept a trade?

It has happened a few times. One team will post the trade and something will be wrong, or an owner slept on the idea and now no longer wishes to make the trade. Ask Noah, he has jumped the gun a couple times.

I even mentioned that I wasn't sure if the deal was 100% correct, as I was going off memory from a private chat.

Noah I don't think you should post trades that haven't even been... fully agreed upon and determined, not just by memory.

It was fully agreed on and determined, but my computer has been having major issues lately and shut down just after Clayton told me over chatango to post. By the time my computer got back up and running, it was 20-25 minutes later, the chat log was gone, and Clayton had signed out.

If this is true, I think the best course of action would have been to wait until you confirmed the information with Clayton through PM to make sure there were no mistakes on what you thought was on the private chat

Why does it matter though? If it's not gonna pass anyway, not like White Sox are effected either way. Not like we'd be approving the deal if White Sox did confirm. Yeah, Noah should wait and confirm, but not sure it's worth all the hullaballoo we're giving it in this case. Anyway, this deal ain't happening.
