GM's were selected based on the moves they made that improved them from year to year. Consequently, teams that were already powerhouses in the previous year were not considered above teams that came from the bottom to the top.
2015 American League GM of the Year:
Noah, GM - Oakland Athletics
After years of terrible baseball in the bay area for Athletics fans, Noah finally came through for the city of Oakland and delivered a winning team. Noah flipped a conglomeration of prospects he'd acquired over the years for a ton of talent ready to contribute at the major league level. Consequently, the Athletics experienced the greatest turn-around in the history of Base Knock Dynasty Baseball, going from 2-17 the previous season to 16-3 with an AL West Division Crown to go along with it. Although the team fell short in the post-season, the season can't be looked on as a failure with the magnitude of the improvement Oakland went through last season. We'll see what Noah can do this off-season with another plethora of trades and signings to make his team one of the top candidates for a championship in the 2016 season.
2015 National League GM of the Year:
Travis, GM - Miami Marlins
This was a tough choice, between the Marlins or the Phillies for GM of the Year this season. Ultimately, it came down to the fact that the Marlins improved by 20 spots in the power rankings from 2014 to 2015, while the Phillies finished "only" jumping 16 spots. While both teams were incredible in the NL East, it was the Marlins that probably surprised us the most, not only coming out of last season's poor play, but making playoffs for the first time since 2011. Travis put together a terrific squad for the 2015 season. However, a challenge awaits for him as he has to put together another winning team to show sustained success in the very competitive National League.
Great job to both GM's with their teams!
