Hey everyone,
The fun part of the off-season is about to begin. Thanks to every for getting in your free agency information before Thanksgiving. It was a big help in order to get Free Agency going!
Trading will open up on Monday, November 30th, 8AM CT. This will allow teams 3 weeks to get their teams ready for free agency. We also have a few new GM's, so it's important to give you guys some time to fix up your new rosters!
We'll be starting Free Agency on December 18th, 7PM CT. Some important things to remember as we start free agency:
- 72 hours is the time to sign for the first three days. So... that means that all bids submitted before December 21st, 7PM CT are not official for 72 hours. All bids submitted after that date are subject to the regular 48 hour time-to-sign period.
- No deleting bids... editing them... just the obvious rules.
- Silent Bidding will be in effect as usual. I added the #ranking for all players when I posted them. So you can all check when a player exceeds his value to enter silent bidding. It'll be hard for me to monitor all the bids, so I'll need help from all of you to alert the league when your bid sends a player to silent bidding so we can keep things moving... here's the ranking list from the league rules page:
Ranked #1-50 $32 Ranked #51-100 $26 Ranked #101-150 $22 Ranked #151-200 $17 Ranked #201-250 $14 Ranked #250+ $12
That should be it for now. Thanks everyone! I'll try to have some sort of cool Free Agency Preview Ranking list typed up in the coming weeks.
- Alex

Will anyone have trouble keeping up with FA during Christmas? Guys could be coming off the board on that day so I want to make sure teams will be able to check in.

Yeah, that is one of my worries. But the time to sign WILL BE 72 hours for the first 4 days.
I REPEAT: THE TIME TO SIGN WILL BE 72 HOURS FROM MONDAY 21st 7PM CT UNTIL FRIDAY 25th 7PM CT.
So all bids submitted before Friday the 25th at 7 PM CT will need 72 hours before they are official. Consequently, as long as people put in their work on Monday and Tuesday and a little on Wednesday, the players clock should extend into the weekend. The only circumstance where this could affect teams would be if someone puts in a bid on Tuesday and no one checks that bid Wednesday through Friday and the player is signed. I think we just need to be active Monday-Wednesday. And if we do that, there'll be no problem with getting that 72 hour clock to extend into the weekend.
Does this work for everybody? If not we can make adjustments.

Sorry maybe I missed the final decision but what was decided on the bidding process?? We discussed changing it but not sure what the final decision was.

We're keeping it the same for now. We'll continue to discuss whether to move towards a points system or some other form of bidding, but there wasn't a decision that was clear enough to implement for this off-season. We'll continue to discuss improvements in the future.
